After the death of her husband, the mother of Julie, Jack, Sue and Tom begins to suffer from a mysterious illness. Aware that she is going to have to go into hospital she opens a bank account for the children, so that they can be financially self-sufficient and will be able to avoid being taken into care by the authorities. Unfortunately she also dies and Julie and Jack (the older, teenage children) decide to hide her body in the basement so that they can have free reign of their household. Soon Tom has taken to dressing as a girl whilst Sue has become increasingly reticent, confiding only to her diary, meanwhile Jack and Julie sense an attraction developing for each other. However Julie's new beau, Derek, threatens to unearth the many dark secrets within this family as he becomes increasingly suspicious of Jack.
A college reunion brings four friends back together in this comedy. Led by Rick Foster (ENTOURAGE's Kevin Dillon), the group of friends realizes how much they've changed in the years since graduation. However, Foster's mind isn't entirely on bonding as he hopes to make some money off his former pals in a game of golf.
The movie is based on the infamous "Stanford Prison Experiment" conducted in 1971. A makeshift prison is set up in a research lab, complete with cells, bars and surveillance cameras. For two weeks 20 male participants are hired to play prisoners and guards. The 'prisoners' are locked up and have to follow seemingly mild rules, and the 'guards' are told simply to retain order without using physical violence. Everybody is free to quit at any time, thereby forfeiting payment. In the beginning the mood between both groups is insecure and rather emphatic. But soon quarrels arise and the wardens employ ever more drastic sanctions to confirm their authority.

In 1950, in South Korea, the shoe-shiner Jin-tae Lee and his eighteen years old student brother Jin-seok Lee form a poor but happy family with their mother, Jin-tae's fiancé Young-shin Kim and her young sisters. Jin-tae and his mother are tough workers, who sacrifice themselves to send Jin-seok to the university. When North Korea invades the South, the family escapes to a relative's house in the country, but along their journey, Jin-seok is forced to join the army to fight in the front, and Jin-tae enlists too to protect his young brother. The commander promises Jin-tae that if he gets a medal he would release his brother, and Jin-tae becomes the braver soldier in the company. Along the bloody war between brothers, the relationship of Jin-seok with his older brother deteriorates leading to a dramatic and tragic end.
Convicts on a chain gang sniff expermental formaldehyde fumes to get high. They attempt a prison break and are shot down by the guards. Buried in the prison garden, they rise from the dead, killing all in their path with shovels and hoes who get in their way for thier quest to get high once more off the formaldehyde.
Tekkonkinkreet takes place in Treasure Town, a city with a fluid sense of reality—in most ways it seems like a gritty Japanese metropolis, but several characters, including our two heroes, Black and White, have supernatural powers. Black and White are street kids who can fly, and who watch over Treasure Town, though the source of their powers and their history as a crime-fighting team is murky—among the many storytelling flaws in Tekkonkinkreet is the fact that it's a superhero movie that never bothers to fully explore the mythology of its heroes. Once one gets past the vague sense of context and setting, however, the film settles into a mostly compelling story in which Black and White, who have exceptional fighting as well as flying skills, take on a combination of Yakuza gangsters and alien assassins who are trying to take control of Treasure Town. The specifics of this battle are regularly glossed over or ignored, but Arias keeps the audience hooked with a series of dynamically edited action sequences and a structure that keeps the film moving from one set piece to the next with a minimum of slow spots.

He keeps moving: on stage, around New York City and on tour, from Suze Rotolo to Joan Baez and on, from songs of topical witness to songs of raucous independence, from folk to rock. He drops the past. He refuses, usually with humor and charm, to be simplified, classified, categorized, or finalized: always becoming, we see a shapeshifter on a journey with no direction home.

An odd film, primarily looking at how the dole affects the underclass in Britain. Tim Roth stars as Colin, a slow and possibly retarded man living with his parents and brother in a housing project. He and his sarcastic manipulative brother still behave like teenagers, living with their parents, harassing each other. The problem is that they are in their late teens or twenties. Neighborhood characters include Hayley, a young woman with a crush on Colin, and Coxy (Gary Oldman) a violent local skinhead who befriends Colin. Trouble ensues when their wealthy aunt gives Colin a job and his brother becomes jealous.

The programme was based on Eric Chappell's stage play, "The Banana Box", in which the landlord was called 'Rooksby'.
Rising Damp (1974-78) is considered by many the best sitcom that ITV has ever produced. Traditionally the BBC made the British classics, largely because a structure was in place to encourage script development, there were regular repeats to build audiences and commercial pressures were less intense. However Rising Damp is as good as the Corporation's best shows of the 1970s and reruns on Channel 4 have introduced the programme to new audiences.
